Pensitivity

Pensitivity experiments with diverse techniques for strings, particularly articulations. The piece also changes keys frequently, allowing an opportunity to grow in harmonic vocabulary.

The difficulty in trying to think of a theme or motif to break ground in writing actually helped me name this piece. The sensitivity of being pensive brought me the epiphany of Pensitivity. So many things can get in the way of our thought process. To exemplify what may occur in the thought process, the musical ideas of the piece depict clumsiness, intensity, focus, and clutter. The themes represent what an individual can go through and although simple, they vary throughout the piece to express individuals; different thoughts, moods and emotions.
